冷再生機施工有沒有地域限制呢？全國各地的瀝再路面均可使用此種工藝。據測算，若推廣使用，一個地級市應配置3-5臺。作為歐美發(fā)達地區(qū)已得到成熟應用的機型的，在國內保有量卻如此地低，原因有多方面，進口機型昂貴的價格應該是主要原因之一。

冷再生租賃機的工作裝置是安裝有大量專用銑刨刀的銑刨拌和轉子。機器在舊路面上沿工作面行駛，轉子下降到設定深度，高速旋轉，銑刨并破碎拌和原路面材料（包括面層和基層），同時噴水系統(tǒng)根據行駛速度及銑刨深度，從伴隨的水車中抽水，向工作裝置罩殼內自動噴灑定量的水。

液體穩(wěn)定劑，例如熱瀝青（冷再生機可選配乳化瀝青噴灑裝置）可通過專門設計的噴嘴將乳化瀝青噴灑到工作裝置罩殼內；粉狀穩(wěn)定劑，如水泥，可按設計添加量事先撒布在再生機工作面上，再生機將粉狀穩(wěn)定劑與路面和水一次性破碎并拌和均勻。

就地冷再生技術不僅適用于高等級公路的維修與改造，也適用于一般道路及鄉(xiāng)間公路的維修與改造。此技術在上世紀五十年代開始在歐美等國家得到應用，目前已是發(fā)達國家已獲得較為普遍的應用，并常常作為路面維修的首選方案。
